Preparing Gambian sweets together
At our second public event, we warmly invite women to spend an inspiring afternoon together. In a relaxed atmosphere, we will cook traditional desserts from Gambia together and create space for meeting, exchange and new connections.
Sally shows us step-by-step how to prepare authentic Gambian panketos (deep-fried dough balls) and chakry (a sweet yoghurt dessert with couscous).
As we stir, shape and taste together, there is plenty of time for conversation, getting to know one another and sharing a laugh. After cooking, we sit down together, enjoy the freshly prepared sweets and round off the afternoon in a relaxed group.
In warm weather the event takes place outside, in cool or wet weather indoors.
